💬 What we’re talking about
Accessibility in education is typically treated as an add-on—something reactive that's only applied when someone doesn’t fit the system as it’s built.
In this piece for EdTech Digest, Moodle CEO Scott Anderberg challenges that mindset, calling out ableism in education and urging us to rethink how learning is designed from the ground up.
“We often talk about shaping the future as if it’s just a task for world leaders, policy makers, or large corporations. But it also happens every day in classrooms, in training sessions, and in conversations, one learner at a time.”
Truth, right?
That’s the heart of MoodleMoot Global 2025, happening this September in Edinburgh. It’s a gathering of people who care deeply about making learning better—for everyone. Think educators, designers, thinkers, tinkerers and...you!
Whether you're there to swap ideas, share what’s working, or just soak it all in, this is the kind of event that leaves you buzzing with new energy (and maybe a few new friends).
Ever feel totally confident about something—only to find out you missed the mark? Same 😬
That’s the Dunning-Kruger effect at work. It’s the cognitive bias where people with low ability overestimate their skills, while experts often underestimate theirs. Much like imposter syndrome, it affects all of us at some point.
This Atlassian piece breaks down why it happens, how it affects teams, and what we can do to stay self-aware and keep growing.
🌟 Made with Moodle
Every month, we spotlight someone using the Moodle platform in creative, impactful ways. Have a story of your own? We’d love to hear it!
“We knew we had great content—Tech Connect became the way to share it widely and effectively.”
Cory Ballard is the Director of Adult Vision Rehabilitation at Vision Forward Association. He and his team want to make learning about assistive technology easier for people who are blind or visually impaired. They created Tech Connect, an online learning hub that everyone can access, using Moodle Workplace.
Vision Forward simplifies learning by supporting certification preparation like ACVREP and providing inclusive content through Tech Connect Live!, a biweekly YouTube broadcast. Designed for individuals with vision loss—and those who support them—Tech Connect offers structured courses, easy navigation, and a central place for all their assistive tech resources.
As Cory puts it: “Moodle helps us make our mission real—by giving us the flexibility to design something that truly fits our learners’ needs.”
